The Problem

Keytag offer a new solution to cloud tagging, saving businesses time and stress when it comes to their cloud asset management. However, as new software in a field with previously unsuccessful solutions, customers assume that ‘it can’t be done.’ There is also uncertainty surrounding cloud tagging and the tangible benefits it can offer, which makes it a hard sell to those making the purchase (managers, business owners and the everyday worker) who will not see the benefits.

The Solution

In a market saturated by tech-heavy, confusing terminology, we wanted to present Keytag as not only a new software in terms of functionality, but also as a new way of doing things to engage and educate customers. This was applied to every brand element, from the creation of a simple logo, to a clear and concise mission statement, to the software build, ensuring every user, regardless of their technical ability, could use it. Applying a fresh visual approach was crucial to reflect a fresh piece of software that beams positive light on the subject of cloud tagging.

Keeping the theme of simplicity

By focusing on creating a simple logo type and icon, it reflects the simplicity of cloud tagging with Keytag so that users don’t feel overwhelmed. Another key pillar was an ‘all in one aspect’ as the software serves as a complete solution that manages all of your cloud tagging needs. By pushing this message, it helps to demystify the complexity that usually comes with the process.

Bringing ‘data to life’ was also crucial, so we focused on 3 key aspects. Firstly, we employed a vibrant colour palette for a dynamic feel, establishing a unique identity in the tech sector. The second was minimalism, aligning with the software’s purpose of decluttering, enabling users to find and organise cloud assets in one place. The third aspect involved drawing on the idea of ‘illuminating your cloud assets’. This concept was born out of the idea that Keytag doesn’t do anything new; but makes existing things visible and usable.

Streamlined user-friendly software design

For the user interface design, we created a dynamic design that allowed multiple pages of data to be viewed, digested, edited, and added to easily for every user. A crucial aspect in our design approach was ensuring the software was usable for everyone, irrespective of users’ technological expertise.

We utilised the existing brand style and landing page design as our foundation but extended it to accommodate a range of platform specific styling.

This led us to develop a user journey that guides individuals to the information they need while ensuring an intuitive pathway for independent exploration.

A cohesive website experience

The website involved integrating the branding elements from the brand strategy ensuring cohesion and accessibility for users with varying levels of cloud-based expertise. Our focus was on strategically placing content to provide customers with an understanding of the software’s benefits before delving into technical details.

While the technical information is vital for a functional understanding of the software, the placement of such content had to be considered so that it was secondary to the benefits. A key webpage is ‘Data Solutions’ which offers an overview of the software, detailing its purpose, functionality, and benefits. This page incorporates technical features and FAQs with the aim of providing all of the information anyone could need, with relevant CTA’s guiding users down the page.

Versatile brand assets

We created a suite of brand assets to support the brand moving forward, including letterheads, business cards, and PowerPoint templates. Particularly crucial for a startup, these assets play a pivotal role in solidifying the brand in the minds of its customers.

These deliverables maintained a consistent and editable format, extending the established style from the branding and website components. By using a basic yet versatile structure, they provide Keytag with the flexibility to tailor them to meet evolving business needs.
